The owners of this 1850's Greek revival house are passionate gardeners who desired a landscape that would respond to the meticulously restored historic architecture of their home. The design would have to feature a substantial vegetable garden while taking advantage of the property's dramatic river views.
The resulting design creates a series of garden rooms that invite engagement with the surrounding landscape and feature the horticultural interests and garden ornaments that these well travelled clients have collected. Each garden becomes a threshold serving to frame and capture a unique perspective of the Connecticut River.
