landscape architecture | Site Planning | habitatAnne Penniman Associates is evolving! In the summer of 2022, Anne closed her landscape architecture office in order to more fully explore, augment and focus on the life-giving world of native New England landscapes. Anne has long believed that landscapes have a therapeutic influence on the human condition. Engaging with the natural elements of landscapes and the cycles of nature provide both respite and solace. Native plant communities have become the missing link in all of our landscapes.
Anne is committed to infusing residential and public landscapes with native plant communities – plantings that have evolved over thousands of years together – on the land we call home. By employing a site-specific palette of native plants, we also achieve a virtuous cycle with indigenous birds, pollinator insects and animals that co-evolved with the native plants. Anne believes that we have a mission to steward and improve the earth, one landscape at a time.
