HOW WE WORK:
A typical project begins with an existing conditions inventory. We ask our clients to provide us with a survey of the site unless it is a very small project on level ground; we may be able to simply take field measurements. Based on the existing conditions inventory and a Site Program summarizing the intentions for the changes to the property, we will develop a Schematic Plan. These are usually conceptual plans or hand sketches with a couple of options that explore the basic forms, volumes and functions of the space. With the clients' approval of the Schematic Plan, we will further develop the project by choosing materials, detailing masonry and other site elements (such as fencing, recreational features, water features, etc. and developing a Planting Plan. For in depth projects of a greater scale, we produce Construction Documents. These are a set of plans that detail every aspect of the project from demo to planting bed preparation to paving and walls for a landscape contractor to provide accurate pricing and competitive bids. Alternately, we can work directly with a pre-approved contractor to minimize detailed drawings. |
